The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved the Kogi State Polytechnic’s Computer Based Test (CBT) centre as one of the listed centres for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) exercise.

This was disclosed recently following a visit to the institution led by Kogi State Coordinator for JAMB, Mallam Abdulsalam Muhammad to inspect the Polytechnic’s CBT Centre in Lokoja.

Mallam Muhammad who expressed satisfaction with the remarkable improvement achieved at the Centre noted that it would be conducive to the UTME exercise.

Mr. Malik Adeiza Rufai who is the Technical Adviser of JAMB in Kogi State opined that the CBT Centre at the Kogi State Polytechnic would further reduce the risk of candidates traveling farther to sit for JAMB examination in other neighbouring states, stressing that it would also add to the revenue generation for the Institution.

The Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman while addressing the JAMB inspection team in his office believed that the Centre would further secure promising future in ICT capacity and development for the end users.

Dr. Usman who paid growing tributes to the JAMB Registrar, Professor Is’haq Oloyede for his mentorship, quality leadership and positive reforms introduced at JAMB said e-examination adds value to student’s proficiencies. He further added that the CBT Centre at the Kogi State Polytechnic would not only raise the Polytechnic’s IGR but would also support JAMB to have seamless examinations.

The Rector however called for more synergy between the Polytechnic and the examination body to raise the standard of education in the state and the country at large.

Head of Information Technology of JAMB, Kogi State Branch, Mallam Abubakar Idris was also part of the JAMB Inspection team.

The meeting was also attended by the Polytechnic’s Registrar, Elder Sunday Ayeetan; Bursar, Mr. Obadaki Obaro Adeika; Academic Board Secretary, Mrs. Omoayena Duro-Bello; Director of Information, Technology Resource Center (ITRC), Dr. (Mrs.) Olukemi Sade Ayodele among others.
