Kogi State Polytechnic

Dr. (Mrs.) Acharu Faith Tony-Okeme was born in Kawo, Kaduna into the family of Alhaji and Mrs. Sule Iyaji of Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State. She started her nursery and primary school at Nativity Private School Makurdi but eventually completed it at Demonstration Staff School Ankpa, (then Benue State) in 1987.

She proceeded to Queen of the Rosary Secondary School Gboko in 1988 and sat for her Senior School Certificate Exam in 1993.  In 1996, she proceeded to the School of Preliminaries Studies (SPS) Keffi where she obtained her “A” Level IJMB certificate in 1998. She secured admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria 1999 and obtained her first Degree in Business Education in 2003.

In 2012, she enrolled for her Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.) in Business Education in the same University and graduated in 2015. More so, in 2017, she enrolled for her Ph.D. in the Department of Business and Entrepreneurship Education at the Kwara State University, Malete (KWASU) and was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Business Education by the Senate of Kwara State University.

After her National Youth Service in Abigi, Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State in 2004, she joined the services of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja as an Assistant Lecturer. She rose through the ranks and she is currently a Principal Lecturer.  She has held various positions of responsibilities and served in various Committees in the Institution. These include Departmental Level Coordinator, Head of Department of Office Technology and Management, Member Kogi State Polytechnic Committee on Educational Portal, Member of Kogi State Polytechnic Accreditation Committee, Member School of Management Examination Mal-practice Committee, Member of School of Management Editorial Board Committee.

She was appointed by the Kogi State Government as Governing Council Member of Kogi State College of Education Technical, Kabba.  She has served as resource person on several NBTE accreditation exercises, she serves as External Assessor of Academic Staff Publications to a number of Polytechnics and External Examiner to several prestigious Polytechnics in the Country.

Dr. (Mrs.) Tony-Okeme is a Member, Association of Business Educators of Nigeria (ABEN), Member, Business Educators in Vocation and Technical Education (Beave) and also a Member, Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria. She is married with children.
