NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) AND HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) PROGRAMMES

NATIONAL DIPLOMA ADMISSION PROCEDURE

This is to inform candidates who chose Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, as First Choice Institution in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 100 in the Post UTME examination that registration for the Post UTME Screening for the 2021/2022 admission commences on Wednesday 22nd September, 2021 to 22nd October, 2021.

Also candidates who chose Kogi State Polytechnic as second or Third choice of institution are to kindly update their First Choice of Institution to Kogi State Polytechnic via the Jamb Portal (Jamb.org)

  • Enter” UTME No” as username and “password’ as default password

Update passport photograph with red background not more than 20kb in size

Upload your O’Level result.  Candidates who are awaiting O’Level result(s) are to kindly select the awaiting option.

Proceed to payment of #2,000 Post “UTME” screening Fee. By clicking on the payment button

Proceed to RRR generation

After completing the payment, printing of registration slip must be coloured

  1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  1. Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (Two Years)

Candidates must possess National Diploma in Computer Science and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics. A credit in any other Science or Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Statistics (Two Years)

Candidates must possess National Diploma in Statistics and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language and Mathematics with any other three Science or Social Science Subjects is required. In addition, candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology (Two Years)

With options in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Biology. Candidates must possess National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. A credit in any other Science or Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial Training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

  1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Industrial Design with options and Fine Arts with options, (2.0(a) and 2.0(b)) must possess National Diploma in Industrial Design or Fine Arts and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, fine Arts or Visual Arts, Chemistry, History, Biology, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Religious Knowledge and any other sciences. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

   C.  SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY

a)  Urban and Regional Planning

  1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning must possess National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, and Geography and any two subjects from the following; Economics, Physics, Biology/Agric. Science, Fine Art. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

  1. SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Higher National Diploma in:

  1. Accountancy
  2. Business Administration and Management
  3. Library and Information Science
  4. Office Technology and Management

  1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  1. Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (Two Years)

Candidates must possess National Diploma in Accountancy and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics. A credit in any other three Science or Social Science subjects is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with PASS in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management (Two Years)

Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Business Administration or related Programmes.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science(Two Years)

Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Library and Information Science and at least a credit in one science subject at the O’level.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management (Two Years)

Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Office Technology and Management.

  1. Higher National Diploma in Public Administration (Two Years)

Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Public Administration and at least a credit in Government or Civic Education at the O’level.

  1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates applying for any of the Pre-ND programmes must possess O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) with two credits and at least Pass in English and Mathematics and any other subject relevant to the specific Pre-ND programmes in any of Technical drawing, Fine Arts, Further Mathematics, Geography, Statistics, wood work, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics, Food and Nutrition, Agric Science, Economics, Commerce, Basic Electricity and Basic Electronics.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Qualified candidates are advised to generate two different RRR numbers for the Admission form and Screening fee from the school portal https://www.portal.kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng and proceed to make payment as follows:

HND Programmes = N6, 500.00 (Admission Form Fee) and N2, 500.00 (Screening Fee) = N9, 000

PRE-ND Programmes = N5, 500.00 (Admission Form Fee) and N2, 500.00 (Screening Fee) = N8, 000

NOTE: The sales of HND and PRE-ND Admission Forms commences on 22nd September, 2021 and closes on 22nd October, 2021.
