Application forms for admission into the Kogi State Polytechnic’s regular Programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic session are now on sale, from Monday 9th November, 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December, 2020. The Polytechnic offers the following courses:
1.0. SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCES
Higher National Diploma:
a. Computer Science
b. Statistics
c. Microbiology
d. Science Laboratory Technology
1.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Computer Science and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits OLevel (NECo/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not a more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics. A credit in any other Science or Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions
b. Higher National Diploma in Statisties (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Statistics and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECcO/WAEC/ GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language and Mathematics with any other three Science or Social Science Subjects is required. In addition, candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year compulsory Industrial training.For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required.ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
c. Higher National Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology (Two Years)
With options in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Biology Candidates must possess National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. A credit in any other Science or Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial Training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
2.0. SCHOOL OF ART DESIGN AND PRINTING
Higher National Diploma:
a. Industrial Design with Options in Graphics, Textiles and Ceramics
b. Fine Arts, with Options in Painting and Sculpture
2.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Industrial Design with options and Fine Arts with options, (2.00a) and (2.00b) must possess National Diploma in Fine Arts and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, fine Arts or Visual Arts, Chemistry, History, Biology, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Religious Knowledge and any other sciences. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
3.0. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
Higher National Diploma:
a. Mineral Resources Engineering Resources (Two Years)
b. Civil Engineering

3.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma Mineral Resources Engineering (Two Years)
With options in the following:
i. Mining Engineering
ii. Geological Engineering
iii. Mineral Processing Engineering
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Mineral Resources Engineering and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry and any three subject from Metalwork, Technical-Drawing, Basic Electronics, and Geography. Such candidate must have one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For Candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial 1Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Civil Engineering and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings whichmust include English Language, Mathematics and Geography, Physics, and Chemistry, In addition, candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training 1s required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
c. Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma inc. Electrical Electronic Engineering and must have a minimum of lower eredit (CGPA of 2.50)and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics and Physics. A credit in any other Science or Social Science subjects is also enquired for admissions into all HND programmes, especíally for candidates from other institutions
4.0. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY
Higher National Diploma
a. Urban and Regional Planning
4.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning must possess National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA of 2.50) and five credits O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, and Geography and any two subjects from the following; Economics, Physics, Biology/Agric. Science, Fine Art. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year compulsory industrial training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
5.0. SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
Higher National Diploma:
a. Business Administration and Management
b. Library and Information Science
c. Office Technology and Management
d. Public Administration
5.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma in Accountaney (Two Years)
Candidates must possess National Diploma in Accountancy and must have a minimum of lower Science or Social Science subjects is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial training. For candidates with pass in ND, two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training is required. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management (two Years)
Same as (5.la) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Business Administration or related Programmes.
c. Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science (Two Years)
Same as (5.Ia) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Library and Information Science and at least a credit in one science subject at the O/level.
d. Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management (Two Years)
Same as (5.la) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Office Technology and Management.
e. Higher National Diploma in Public Administration (Two Years)
Same as (5.la) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Public Administration and at least a credit in Government or Civic Education at the O/level.
6.0. SCHOOLOF PRELIMINARY STUDIES
a. One year Advanced Level (A/L) course of LJMB, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru, Zaria in Christian Religious Studies, Geology, Government, Islamic Religious Studies. Physics, Sociology, Mathematics (Special), Chemistry, History. Accounting. Biology and Business Management.
b. IJMB Basic English Language and Mathematics (i.e. O/L English Language and Mathematics).
6.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. IJMB ‘A’ Level (One Year)
Candidates must have five subjects in (NECO/ WAECI GCE/ NABTEB)at credit level which must include English Language, and Mathematics, three of which must be relevant to one of the combinations offered by the school at maximum of two sittings.
b. IJMB Basic English and Mathematics (L.e. O/L) (One Year)
Candidates who have attempted SSCE, NECO or WASC but could not pass English Language and Mathematics at credit levels are qualified for admission as External Candidates.

7.1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates applying for any of the Pre-ND programmes must possess O/Level (NECO/ WAEC/ GCE/ NABTEB) with two credits and at least Pass in English and Mathematics and any other subject relevant to the specific Pre-ND programmes in any of Technical drawing, Fine Arts, Further Mathematics, Geography, Statistics, wood work, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics, Food and Nutrition, Agric Science, Economics, Commerce, Basic Electricity and Basic Electronics.

Qualified candidates are advised to generate two different RRR numbers for the Admission form and Screening fee from the school portal https://www.portal.kogıstatepolytechnic.edu.ng and proceed to make payment as follows:
HND Programmes = N6, 500.00 (Admission Form Fee) and N2, 500.00 (Screening Fee) = N9, 000
PRE-ND Programmes N5, 500.00 (Admission Form Fee) and N2, 500.00 (Screening Fee) = N8, 000

3. Select full time application
4. Enter your name, email and your mobile number then select your programme type (e.g HND, NDS… e.t.c) from the programme list.
5. Ensure email is valid as an authentication code including your username (phone number) and password would be sent to your email.
6. Once the authentication page window
7. Once authentication is done
8. After authentication you will be required to login with your username (phone number) and password.
9. Complete the bio data form
10. Select your course of study
11. Complete payment for application form by generating two different RRR to pay for Registration form (N6,500) and Screening (N2,500)
12. Print a copy of your application slip for screening.
